Little Kitchen Academy Partners with Lettuce Grow for Sustainable Gardening in Schools
Little Kitchen Academy has announced a new exclusive partnership with Lettuce Grow to enhance their Living Food Walls with self-watering, self-fertilizing hydroponic garden systems. This collaboration will see Lettuce Grow's Farmstand systems installed in all Little Kitchen Academy locations across Canada and the U.S. by October 1, 2024.
Each Little Kitchen Academy location features a Living Food Wall that grows fresh herbs, fruits, and vegetables for students to use in cooking classes. Incorporating Lettuce Grow's Farmstands will provide a sustainable, economical, and educational means to continuously supply fresh produce, reinforcing healthy eating habits among children.
Lettuce Grow, co-founded by Zooey Deschanel and Jacob Pechenik in 2017, aims to reconnect people with their food sources and improve health, reduce climate change impact, and address global resource constraints. Their Farmstand units enable year-round indoor gardening and have received positive feedback from the Little Kitchen Academy community.
Felicity and Brian Curin, Co-Founders of Little Kitchen Academy, state that this partnership aligns with their commitment to sustainability and culinary education. The initiative offers students a unique farm-to-table experience during their cooking classes.
The partnership will also include social media promotions, co-branded recipes, and school give-back programs. Further details will be shared with Little Kitchen Academy and Lettuce Grow subscribers.
