Locusview has implemented a Digital Construction Management (DCM) solution for a major Tier 1 electric utility operating in eight states, modernizing their electrical construction processes. This advanced technology has optimized the workflow in electrical as-builts, enabling accurate integration of asset data into their Geographic Information System (GIS) to effectively support network modernization programs and Advanced Distribution Management Systems (ADMS).

Previously managed on paper with outdated GPS equipment, the electrical construction process required tedious data post-processing and manual job order processing. Adopting Locusview's DCM solution has digitally streamlined these operations across eight states, enhancing safety, service, and reliability for over a million gas and electric customers. By deploying Trimble Catalyst GNSS receivers and integrating them into the company's GIS system, the solution provides real-time data collection, precise validation, and swift integration of electrical as-built data.

This success builds on previous experiences with gas construction workflows since 2019, confirming Locusview's efficiency in managing electrical infrastructure construction projects. The ease of fieldwork management and digital export of GIS data has resulted in over 100 hours of savings per month for the team. This evolution marks a significant step towards efficient electric network modernization.
