Lonza Expands HPAPI Capacity at Visp Facility

Lonza has announced plans to expand its payload-linker manufacturing capacity at its Visp site. This move is set to enhance its position within the rapidly growing antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) market. The investment focuses on advanced production capabilities for highly potent active pharmaceutical ingredients (HPAPI) and complex payload-linkers.

The expansion includes new manufacturing capacity at an existing GMP facility. This will establish platforms for additional payload-linker production and purification, supported by specialized laboratories. The site will enable flexible production of various molecules, with options to scale with customer demand.

The expanded capacity ties into Lonza's ADC ecosystem, facilitating monoclonal antibody manufacture and drug product manufacturing in Visp and Stein. Operations are expected to commence in 2028, serving both clinical and commercial sectors.
