Mawson Finland Launches 2025 Drilling at Rajapalot
Mawson Finland Limited has begun its 2025 drilling program at the Rajapalot project, employing four diamond drilling rigs and a ‘base-of-till' rig. This initiative targets between 12,000 to 15,000 meters of exploration at the gold-cobalt site in Finland, focusing largely on expanding current resources. About 10,000 to 12,000 meters will focus on existing inferred resources, with the remainder on new exploration.
The program also involves 500+ shallow holes using BOT drilling to investigate geochemical anomalies discovered last season. The goal is to identify mineralization beneath glacial regolith layers. Mawson's CEO, Noora Ahola, expressed enthusiasm for the winter drilling campaign, highlighting the ongoing geochemical surface exploration programs.
Mawson aims to enhance its inferred mineral resource for Rajapalot, currently estimated at 9.8 million tonnes at 2.8 g/t gold and 441 ppm cobalt. The resource modeling reflects ore located within highly-sheared wall-rocks near hydrothermally altered zones. The project continues to probe for deeper mineralization, building on previous geophysical survey results.
