Mending Kids' 19th Annual Imagine Gala Highlights Transformative Surgical Care for Children

At the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles, the 19th Annual Imagine Gala by Mending Kids celebrated a significant benchmark in the global mission of delivering transformative surgical care to children. This year's theme, "Be a Pearl in Our Ocean of Hope," encapsulated the evening's purpose and the organization's broader goals.

Cedars-Sinai Guerin Children's was awarded the LOVE Award for its exceptional contributions to pediatric healthcare, demonstrating a longstanding commitment to healing and innovation. Meanwhile, the MEND Award was conferred upon Dr. Jason Frischer of Cincinnati Children's Hospital, acknowledged for his dedication and invaluable efforts in pediatric surgery, impacting lives both in the U.S. and Tanzania.

The Gala also featured the inspiring story of Heber Carias, a former patient, showcasing the life-changing effect of Mending Kids' work. Additionally, an engaging live auction with unique items, including artwork by Gene Simmons, attracted significant support for the cause.

Mending Kids, nearing two decades of service, has proudly facilitated essential surgical care for over 5,300 children across 75 countries. With new missions planned in Central America, Asia, Africa, and the U.S., the organization continues to strive towards reaching more children in need. Acknowledgment was given to sponsors, partners, and supporters whose ongoing generosity ensures the continuance of Mending Kids' lifesaving mission.
