Mercer Mass Timber to Supply Sustainable Materials for Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library
Mercer Mass Timber (MMT) announced its role in the construction of the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library in North Dakota. The project aims to reflect the former president's dedication to conservation, utilizing locally sourced and renewable resources like mass timber.
In collaboration with JE Dunn, MMT will provide design assistance, materials, and logistical support for the library. Projections target the building as a zero-energy establishment with no emissions, waste, or water use. The library will span 93,000 square feet and feature various educational and recreational facilities.
MMT will supply approximately 1,800 cubic meters of cross-laminated timber and glulam for the structure, including a signature roof and external features in the project's second phase. These materials support the library's sustainable goals, aiming to position it amongst the most sustainable cultural institutions worldwide. Construction is set to begin in April 2024, with an expected completion by July 4, 2026.
