Meridian Mining Reports Significant Copper Anomaly at Jauru Project, Brazil
Meridian Mining UK S has identified a significant 7km copper anomaly in their Jauru copper and gold exploration project in Mato Grosso, Brazil. This project, situated approximately 45km west of Meridian's Cabaçal project, builds upon historical data from the 1980s, suggesting strong prospects for future exploration.
The Jauru project exhibits strong geological similarities to the Cabaçal site, suggesting potential for significant mineral discoveries. The identified copper and gold geochemical anomalies meet or exceed the threshold values that were indicative of the early exploration success at Cabaçal. This enhances Meridian Mining’s objective of expanding as a significant player in copper-gold production.
This promising development follows comprehensive reviews of extensive data previously gathered, which included geochemical and geophysical surveys as well as reconnaissance drilling. The current findings strengthen Meridian’s portfolio of development and exploration assets, affirming its strategy to enhance resource growth beyond its primary ventures at Cabaçal and Santa Helena.
The exploration work to date has also identified additional base metal anomalies and prospective geological units within the license areas of Meridian Mining, confirming the area's potential for further exploration and resource development.
