Meridian Reports Significant VMS Gold Mineralization Discovery at Santa Helena
Meridian Mining UK announced a notable high-grade gold-rich Volcanogenic Massive Sulphide (VMS) drill intersection at the Santa Helena Au-Cu-Ag & Zn deposit. The drill hole CD-605 revealed a lateral extension of 75.6m at 4.6 g/t AuEq from a depth of 32.4m, indicating the presence of a high-grade gold VMS domain. The discovery suggests potential for further strike and dip extensions as drilling continues.
CD-605's results include strong gold mineralization with sections such as 7.2m at 7.2 g/t Au. The assay also identified significant silver levels, peaking at 507 g/t Ag. Additional neighboring drill holes reinforced these findings, expanding the high-grade system across approximately 1.4km. The ongoing resource program targets further delineation of high-grade mineralization with assays pending.
The discovery highlights Santa Helena's potential within the Cabaçal VMS belt, with implications for wider exploration of gold and base metal deposits. The strategic location and promising assays position Santa Helena as a pivotal component of Meridian's exploration and development initiatives.
