PPC Group and METLEN to Develop 1,500 MW Energy Storage Projects

PPC Group and METLEN Energy & Metals have formed a joint venture to create energy storage projects totaling up to 1,500 MW capacity across Romania, Bulgaria, and Italy. These initiatives will utilize two-hour liquid-cooled battery systems with advanced LFP technology. The collaboration aims to support the operation of photovoltaic and wind parks, contributing significantly to power system stability in these regions.

The venture's joint ownership stakes are split equally, with each party offering complementary strengths. PPC Group brings robust development skills and proficient energy management, ensuring swift progress and efficiency across all project phases. Meanwhile, METLEN provides invaluable construction expertise, pushing for high-quality project delivery.

This initiative, expecting 1,000 MW to roll out within a year, marks a significant move for both firms, enhancing their footprints in the European energy sector while embracing innovation in renewable energy storage systems.
