MGI Teams Up with Google Cloud in Strategic Move to Optimize Operations

Media and Games Invest SE (MGI) and Google Cloud have embarked on a strategic collaboration aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and achieving significant cost savings. This partnership will see the consolidation of MGI’s digital marketplaces into a single cloud infrastructure hosted on Google Cloud. Expected to create economies of scale, this move is projected to save MGI approximately €20 million over the coming four years.

This consolidation effort is set to unify MGI’s technology stack, fostering an environment of increased development agility and operational optimization. The majority of this transition is scheduled for completion by mid-2025. Additionally, by leveraging Google Cloud's cutting-edge AI expertise, including its Vertex AI platform, MGI anticipates further innovation in its business operations and a boost in its AI-driven products, such as Moments.AI and ATOM.

Remco Westermann, CEO of MGI, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, highlighting the anticipated cost savings and operational benefits. He noted that this collaboration aligns with MGI's focus on AI and is expected to catalyze innovation across its product range. With these strategic moves, MGI aims to cement its position as a key player in the industry.
