Minister-President Winfried Kretschmann Visits ElringKlinger AG

On April 24, 2024, Winfried Kretschmann, the Minister-President of Baden-Württemberg, made an official visit to ElringKlinger AG's facilities in Dettingen/Erms and Neuffen, Germany. Highlighting the company’s evolving capabilities, Kretschmann toured the competence center for battery technology and participated in a groundbreaking ceremony for a new logistics center in Neuffen.

The visit facilitated a detailed discourse between Kretschmann and ElringKlinger CEO Thomas Jessulat about the ongoing transformation within the automotive sector and the supplier industry. Jessulat outlined ElringKlinger’s strategy which hinges on robust traditional divisions supporting investments in new technologies such as battery and fuel cell systems. The CEO emphasized the company's role as a major partner in battery technology, showcasing their recent large-scale orders and upcoming contributions to BMW's New Class vehicles.

The function also saw Kretschmann appreciating ElringKlinger's proactive approach in supporting state and European projects, particularly in battery technology. The establishment of a new logistics center aims to increase ElringKlinger’s production capabilities, with an expansion of approximately 4,500 square meters at the Neuffen site. The project is supported by a significant investment from the Leuze Group, enhancing the infrastructure for future technology production.
