Modernization of the highway network near Lyon: Installation of a barrier-free toll system
Kapsch TrafficCom announces the award of a contract by APRR to deploy a barrier-free toll system (MLFF) in the east of Lyon. The project covers the A43, A41, and A49 highways, spanning nearly 430 km. This initiative involves the addition of approximately 30 toll gantries, aiming to enhance users' experience.
Bernard Lamy from Kapsch TrafficCom emphasizes the importance of this project in transforming toll methods, promising more efficient collection and an improved experience for drivers. This hybrid system will allow vehicle detection at entry and easy payment at exit.
These highways are crucial for transit between Switzerland, Italy, and France. The system is planned to be operational by 2026, marking significant progress towards sustainable and comfortable mobility. Kapsch TrafficCom hopes to strengthen its partnership with APRR through this.
