Moussa Niakhaté joins Olympique Lyonnais until 2028

Olympique Lyonnais announces the arrival of Moussa Niakhaté, Senegalese international defender, from Nottingham Forest for an amount of 31.9 million euros. The player has signed up for 4 seasons, until June 30, 2028.

Trained at LOSC, Niakhaté began his professional career at 18 with Valenciennes. Following three good seasons in Ligue 2, he joined FC Metz in 2017 and stood out for his performances.

In 2018, he joined FSV Mainz in the Bundesliga where he played 135 matches and scored 9 goals. His experience in Germany led him to sign with Nottingham Forest in 2022 and be selected for the Africa Cup of Nations with Senegal.

At 28, Niakhaté established himself as a solid defender in the Premier League, playing 37 matches for Nottingham Forest. Olympique Lyonnais is delighted with this first summer reinforcement and the addition of a sixth Senegalese international to its squad.
