Mukuru Launches Mobile Wallet in Zimbabwe to Boost Financial Inclusion

Mukuru has unveiled the Mukuru Wallet in Zimbabwe, its latest digital financial service. This follows Mukuru's acquisition of a Deposit-Taking Microfinance Institution license from the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe. The wallet will serve over three million Zimbabwean customers, facilitating local and international transactions via mobile phones while ensuring secure fund storage and offering free cashouts on international transfers.

The initiative is part of Mukuru's aim to enhance financial inclusion by expanding its network of 250 service points across both urban and rural areas. This development is expected to provide significant benefits to underserved communities, including safer money management and additional conveniences like paying for utilities and insurance from home.

Businesses may soon partner with Mukuru to utilize its extensive network, further enabling efficient payment methods for farmers and facilitating aid distribution. The Mukuru Wallet is set to transform financial transactions for both individual and business users in Zimbabwe.
