Mutares Expands Defense Portfolio with Achleitner Acquisition
Mutares SE & Co. KGaA, through its portfolio company Magirus, has signed an agreement to acquire Achleitner Fahrzeugbau GmbH. This acquisition strengthens Magirus' presence in the defense and security vehicle market. The transaction is expected to close in Q4 2025, further expanding Mutares' defense portfolio.
Achleitner, established in 1932 and based in Austria, is renowned for its expertise in custom vehicle design for off-road, police, and military use. With 120 staff, the company is noted for its advanced all-wheel-drive technology and strong OEM partnerships. This acquisition will enhance Magirus' product offering in mission-critical vehicles by combining Achleitner's expertise with Magirus' leadership in emergency response solutions.
Johannes Laumann, CIO of Mutares, emphasizes that this acquisition complements their strategic goals by leveraging Achleitner's technical know-how and strong customer relations.
