Mynaric Wins Contract With Rocket Lab for SDA’s Tranche 2 Transport Layer Program
Mynaric AG (NASDAQ: MYNA) (FRA: M0YN) announced on May 7, 2024, its selection by Rocket Lab USA, Inc (NASDAQ: RKLB) to supply optical terminals for the Space Development Agency's Tranche 2 Transport Layer - Beta program. This contract, involving CONDOR Mk3 terminals worth approximately $15 million, will see deliveries spanning 2025 to 2026. Rocket Lab secured the program, which includes 18 space vehicles, in January 2024.
The Transport Layer aims to form the space-based backbone for the Joint All Domain Command and Control infrastructure, providing key capabilities like low-latency data transport and sensor-to-shooter connectivity. Tranche 2 is expected to enhance global persistence over its predecessor, adding advanced tactical data links and support for proliferated missions.
Mynaric’s contribution extends beyond Rocket Lab, as it will also supply terminals to Northrop Grumman for related Alpha and Beta programs. The company's CONDOR line of terminals is designed for broad deployment in various governmental and commercial satellite constellations, highlighting Mynaric's continuous involvement in significant aerospace projects.
