NAGRAVISION and Blonder Tongue Join Forces to Secure Hospitality Content Distribution

NAGRAVISION, a Kudelski Group company, and Blonder Tongue Laboratories, Inc. have announced a new partnership. The collaboration aims to replace end-of-life PowerKey CableCARDS with secure, software-based conditional access technology. This solution ensures service continuity for hospitality venues in North America.

The partnership integrates NAGRAVISION's technology with Blonder Tongue’s hardware, allowing for different security levels for cable and IPTV/OTT set-top boxes. Initial key provisioning will be conducted over-the-air based on device identifiers, and additional licenses will be provided by NAGRAVISION’s security platform.

Blonder Tongue CEO Bob Palle emphasized the importance of addressing the PowerKey CableCARD transition. Tom Wirth from NAGRAVISION highlighted their commitment to minimizing disruption for hospitality venues. This marks another step in securing content for major distributors globally.
