Launch of PntGuard™: Addressing GNSS Spoofing and Jamming at Sea

On October 30, 2025, Tschudi Shipping Company, NAL Research, and SGM Technology AS introduced PntGuard™, a maritime-security solution aimed at combating GNSS spoofing and jamming. Operating independently of bridge systems, PntGuard ensures navigational integrity by delivering alerts and accurate position data when other systems are compromised.

The threat of GNSS signal disruption is escalating, posing risks such as collisions, navigation into restricted waters, and logistical delays. Most solutions only flag disruptions without providing a trusted alternative. PntGuard, utilizing the Iridium® satellite network, offers a robust response by receiving a secured signal resilient to common disturbances.

Designed for ease of use, PntGuard consists of an above-deck receiver and a bridge display unit. It offers real-time position data and has proven its reliability through extensive trials. The solution is available for fleet deployment, providing an immediate safeguard against increasing navigational threats.
