NatWest Markets Plc Reports Interim 2026 Results
NatWest Markets Group has released its interim results for the first half of 2026, amidst challenging geopolitical and macroeconomic conditions. Despite market volatility, customer demand was strong in foreign exchange risk management. Total income increased by £30 million to £792 million, driven by foreign exchange reserves recycling and capital markets growth, offsetting a decline in Fixed Income revenues.
Operating expenses rose by £85 million, totaling £752 million, due to higher other operating expenses but reduced litigation and conduct costs. The group maintained robust capital and liquidity positions, reporting a profit of £77 million, down from £89 million the previous year.
Risk-Weighted Assets increased to £22.1 billion. The liquidity portfolio slightly decreased to £20 billion, but the Liquidity Coverage Ratio improved to 204%. Transactions included £3.7 billion in public benchmark issuances, reflecting strategic funding efforts.
