New Gold Depositional Environments Identified at Vatu Aurum Project
Kalo Gold Corp. has announced a significant advancement in their Vatu Aurum Project in Fiji. A new geological model identifies three types of gold depositional environments, notably the Qiriyaga Complex. This includes deep-seated diatreme-hosted gold mineralization and surge deposits, highlighting extensive mineralization potential.
Historical drilling at Qiriyaga has shown high-grade gold, including up to 120.0 g/t gold over 1.0 meter. The Namalau Trend, a newly discovered epithermal gold system, further enhances the project's prospects, with parallel systems presenting additional high-priority targets.
Future drilling will focus on these priority sectors, aiming to confirm mineralization continuity and expand gold zones. This exploration could affirm the district-scale opportunity of the project. The discovery has drawn strategic comparisons to major Pacific Rim gold deposits, suggesting significant exploration upside.
