Nexans Launches Stella Nova: Pioneering Energy Solutions for Data Centers
Nexans has officially opened Stella Nova, a new Center of Excellence in Hanover, Germany. This facility is dedicated to advancing electrification technologies spanning superconducting cable systems, and cryogenic lines. The inauguration also featured a groundbreaking demonstration of superconducting low-voltage AC and DC cables, aimed at catering to the growing energy needs of future data centers.
The Stella Nova site is part of the Panattoni Campus and houses over 70 experts. Its strategic focus includes developing high-precision machines, cryogenic systems, and superconducting cables intended to transform energy infrastructure. As global electricity demands for data centers are forecasted to surge, Nexans' innovations target efficiency and sustainability.
Superconducting cables offer up to 10 times the power transmission capability than conventional solutions, providing an energy-efficient alternative with minimal environmental impact. These developments align with Nexans' vision for a more sustainable digital economy and its role in the global energy transition.
