Nittetsu Mining Injects $1.5 Million for Drilling at Los Chapitos
Camino Minerals Corp has secured CAD$1.5 million from its partner, Nittetsu Mining Co., for the next drilling campaign at Los Chapitos Copper Project in Peru. The campaign is set to commence in January 2025. This funding marks the fourth installment under the 2023 Earn-in Agreement, progressing Nittetsu toward a 35% stake in the project after a total investment of CAD$10 million over three years.
To date, Nittetsu has invested CAD$7 million in Los Chapitos. The upcoming drilling will target the Pampero site within the La Estancia Fault, known for occurrences of copper oxides and sulfides. Analysis in the area has revealed copper concentrations up to 3.8%.
The Pampero target is comparable to other significant copper deposits in the region. The planned 1200m diamond drilling aims to explore and define copper oxide mineralization along a substantial structural fault line, highlighting Los Chapitos' potential as a significant copper project in Peru.
