NORMA Group Secures Patent Victory Against Chinese Competitor
NORMA Group, a leader in engineered joining technology based in Maintal, Germany, has successfully defended its patented joining technology in a legal dispute with a Chinese competitor. The Supreme People's Court in Beijing ruled in June 2024 that a product from Suzhou Shengnuo Connection Technology Co. Ltd infringed on NORMA Group's patent for an advanced worm-drive hose clamp.
The court has prohibited Shengnuo from manufacturing or selling the infringing clamp and ordered the company to pay damages to NORMA Group. The decision is final.
CEO Guido Grandi highlighted the importance of their patents in protecting innovations and ensuring future business security. The patented clamp, known as the TORRO® PreFix System, allows for pre-positioning on hoses and has been in the market since 2007.
The clamps are produced in Changzhou, China, and Maintal, Germany, and are essential for efficient assembly in constrained spaces. NORMA Group's focus on high-quality, easy-to-install products provides significant benefits to the manufacturing industry.
