North Peak Resources announces promising results for its first exploration drilling at Eureka, Nevada
North Peak Resources Ltd. has recently reported significant discoveries following its first exploration drilling on its Prospect Mountain property in Eureka, Nevada. Drill hole PM23-001, with a depth of 3,253 feet, intersected a Mobile MT geophysical anomaly identified during the summer 2023 surveys. This exploration revealed the presence of at least 8 mineralized zones of Carbonate Replacement (CRD) style within the altered Hambourg dolomite, the host rock of the Diamond Mine workings located above.
Notable intersections include 9.5% zinc, 221.6 g/t silver, 0.8% copper, and 0.3% lead over 1.0 meter, as well as a new gold zone of 0.6 g/t over 3.1 meters. These results suggest peripheral mineralization to more conductive and potentially richer lead and gold bodies towards the northern end of the system. A BHEM survey is underway to define the optimal orientation of possible extensions of this drill hole.
North Peak had previously released results from a historic hole (WS02) also showing significant zinc and gold grades, corroborating the intercepts of PM23-001. This discovery not only highlights the polymetallic wealth of Prospect Mountain but also the untapped potential of gold-bearing zones, challenging pre-existing theories on the distribution of gold in the region.
