OnePlus Launches OnePlus Nord 4 with Metal Unibody Design

SHENZHEN, CHINA - July 18, 2024 - OnePlus has reintroduced the metal unibody design with the launch of the OnePlus Nord 4 on July 16 in Milan. This smartphone, the first in the 5G era to feature a metal unibody, is available in three new colors: Obsidian Midnight, Mercurial Silver, and Oasis Green. OnePlus aims to provide durability, premium appeal, and a seamless user experience with this model.

Ryan Ruan, Head of OnePlus Industrial Design Center, and Mathieu Lehanneur, Designer of the Paris 2024 Olympic Torch, discussed the appeal of metal unibody design and shared design insights. Lehanneur praised the intricate 3D nano-laser engraved finish of the OnePlus Nord 4, comparing it to the ‘guilloché’ technique used in luxury watches.

OnePlus tested over a hundred different metal finishes to achieve a unique metallic sheen for the OnePlus Nord 4. The phone’s aluminum alloy body offers superior heat dissipation and reliable signal strength, enhancing user comfort and performance.
