OPmobility Opens New Module Assembly Plant in Texas
OPmobility revealed its new module assembly facility in Austin, Texas, focusing on a substantial order from a major US electric mobility company. Completed in only six months, the Austin plant has produced 100,000 modules since its recent start in September and is anticipated to become the group's top revenue generator.
The facility is expected to assemble 2.5 million modules annually, including 1.5 million front-end and 1 million cockpit modules, creating over 400 jobs by 2025. It marks OPmobility’s expansion in the U.S., where the company projects its revenue to double in the next five years. Plans are also in place to add production capabilities for exterior body parts like tailgates.
Laurent Favre, CEO of OPmobility, expressed enthusiasm for the new venture, highlighting it as a milestone in the company's U.S. expansion and a testament to their diversified customer strategy focusing on the electric vehicle sector. This inauguration increases OPmobility's global footprint to 13 plants, reflecting its growing presence and order book in the U.S.
