Optima Tax Relief Supports IRS-Sponsored VITA Program, Empowering Communities with Free Tax Services
Optima Tax Relief, renowned for its tax resolution services, has furthered its contribution to community service by supporting the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program. The VITA Program, sponsored by the IRS, enables free tax preparation for Americans with moderate incomes, the elderly, disabled persons, and speakers of limited English.
Through their collaboration with local community organizations, Optima Tax Relief aims to reinforce the VITA Program by utilizing their professional knowledge and resources. In 2024, Optima’s staff volunteers committed a total of 145 hours during the tax season to help individuals and families file their taxes at no cost.
Senior Director Derek Stroup mentioned that this partnership allows financially challenged individuals to receive tax help which they otherwise might not afford. CEO David King and Lead Tax Attorney Philip Hwang reflected on the firm's ongoing commitment to the program, emphasizing the broader impact of their service in enriching and supporting community members beyond just tax assistance.
