Orell Füssli Ltd: Half-Year 2024 Sustained Sales Growth

Zurich, 26 July 2024 - Orell Füssli reported sales of CHF 107.1 million for the first half of 2024, up from CHF 105.0 million the previous year. The operating result (EBIT) dropped slightly to CHF 4.6 million due to rising costs and seasonal factors.

The security printing division secured major new orders, including multi-year contracts for banknote printing, though sales dipped to CHF 38.0 million from CHF 39.2 million. Zeiser's sales climbed 22% to CHF 11.1 million, driven by new orders and strong demand for its Track & Trace technology.

Book retailing saw a modest increase in sales to CHF 51.0 million, bolstered by new store openings and market share gains. Orell Füssli also performed well in publishing and launched digital learning media projects.

Procivis achieved significant success, winning four new orders, including a tender from the US Department of Homeland Security. The outlook for the second half of 2024 is positive, with expected growth and an uptick in seasonal business activities.
