Pampa Metals Reports Promising Results from First Drillhole at Piuquenes Porphyry Project
Pampa Metals Corp. announced significant assay results from the first 502 meters of diamond drillhole PIU-01 at the Piuquenes Central porphyry target in Argentina. The drillhole, which extends to a depth of 867 meters, revealed significant copper, gold, and silver mineralization. The assays included a section of 304 meters grading 1.07% copper equivalent, including a higher-grade zone of 132 meters at 1.45% copper equivalent.
The company has observed supergene copper enrichment and primary mineralization extending from the surface to deeper levels. Notably, intense porphyry type quartz stockwork veining associated with strong primary mineralization was encountered, indicating the potential for significant mineral deposits at the site. Pampa Metals is awaiting assay results for the remaining section of the drillhole, which could further confirm the project’s potential.
Joseph van den Elsen, President and CEO, expressed satisfaction with the initial drilling results, highlighting the evidence of enriched and primary copper mineralization. The company plans to continue its exploration efforts with a second drillhole aimed at testing the depth and lateral extensions of the mineralization found in PIU-01. Further exploration will also target the undrilled Piuquenes East porphyry and other prospective areas on the property.
