Pampa Metals Reports Significant Copper and Gold Intersections in Argentina
Pampa Metals Corp. has announced the final assay results of its first drill hole PIU-01, revealing significant intersections of copper and gold mineralization at its Piuquenes Central porphyry project in San Juan Province, Argentina. The drill hole, which reached a depth of 867m, encountered a notable interval of 422m grading 1.00% copper equivalent (CuEq), including a higher-grade section of 132m at 1.45% CuEq.
The drilling aimed to explore the depth and lateral extensions of previously identified mineralization on the southwestern margin of Piuquenes Central. It successfully intersected mineralized intrusion at a depth of 198m, with supergene copper enrichment observed between 220m and 380m. This enrichment overlaps with intense primary mineralization marked by A-type quartz stockwork veining, visible from 350m to about 650m.
Joseph van den Elsen, President and CEO of Pampa Metals, stated his satisfaction with the outcomes of the initial drilling campaign, emphasizing the achievement of objectives in testing the mineralization's depth and lateral extensions. Future drilling campaigns are set to explore the Piuquenes East porphyry target and other identified areas on the property.
