ParTec AG Files Patent Infringement Lawsuit Against Microsoft in Texas

Munich-based ParTec AG has initiated a patent infringement lawsuit against Microsoft Corporation in Texas, USA. The case, jointly filed through ParTec's licensing agent BF exaQC AG, revolves around the infringement of ParTec’s patents related to the dynamic modular system architecture (dMSA). This technology is pivotal for constructing advanced AI supercomputers.

ParTec aims to obtain an injunction to stop the use of their patented technology and seeks license fees and damage compensation. The dMSA technology has already been integral to several high-profile European supercomputers, including Leonardo, JUWELS, JUPITER, and Meluxina.

CEO Bernhard Frohwitter emphasizes that Microsoft's Azure platform misuses their intellectual property, prompting the legal action. The lawsuit is being handled by the US law firm Susman Godfrey L.L.P., led by partner Justin Nelson.
