PATRIZIA Secures Additional Funding for Smart City Investment Program
PATRIZIA Immobilien AG has raised EUR 200 million for its Smart City Infrastructure Fund (SCIF) from APG Asset Management. This increase brings the SCIF fund size to EUR 950 million, complemented by a USD 500 million co-investment side vehicle, totaling about EUR 1.4 billion.
The new funds focus on expanding SCIF’s Italian smart streetlighting platform and its smart city division. SCIF invests in smart city enabling infrastructure, such as smart streetlighting, building optimization, and high-speed fiber connectivity.
Since its launch in 2018, SCIF has fully committed its initial EUR 750 million to projects in Europe and North America. Notable investments include FiberCity® projects in the US and acquisitions in Italy, like Ottima, Selettra, and Atlantico.
PATRIZIA’s smart streetlighting portfolio manages over 360,000 light points in 220 municipalities, with plans to expand to 1 million light points within five years. The company's strategy aligns with the EU’s energy efficiency goals, achieving over 60% energy savings in upgraded streetlights.
PATRIZIA aims to reach EUR 100 billion assets under management within the next five years, with smart city solutions as one of its key growth areas.
