Pecan Energies reveals its new brand image and its commitments for Ghana

Pecan Energies, the operator of the Deepwater Tano/Cape Three Points (DWT/CTP) block in Ghana, announces the completion of its rebranding process. With a new visual identity including a logo and slogan reflecting its ambition to contribute to the prosperity of African communities, the company highlights its commitment to sustainable development and the economic growth of the continent.

The acquisition of Pecan Energies by Africa Finance Corporation (AFC) in April 2023 marks the start of a new era for the company. AFC, supported by African states, works to overcome the infrastructure deficit in Africa, ensuring responsible exploitation of the continent's natural resources. Pecan Energies owns a 50% stake in the DWT/CTP project, which has significant potential with approximately 550 million barrels of recoverable oil equivalent and a significant exploration portfolio.

Pecan Energies Managing Director Eiliv Gjesdal highlights the importance of this transformation for the company, which aims to become a key player in the deepwater oil and gas industry on the continent. The company aspires to make a major social and economic impact in Ghana and beyond through its approach focused on sustainability, localization, responsibility and contribution to the community.

The new logo design and brand color palette demonstrate this ambition and Pecan Energies' determination to operate in a safe, efficient and environmentally friendly manner. The change in identity also coincides with the move towards a Final Investment Decision (FID) following the Ghanaian authorities' approval of its Development Plan for the DWT/CTP block.
