Pelangio Explores Potential for Near-Term Production at Manfo
Pelangio Exploration Inc. is evaluating the potential for near-term gold production at its Manfo project in Southwest Ghana. The company aims to exploit near-surface gold resources through open-pit mining, leveraging the current high gold prices.
Ingrid Hibbard, President and CEO, noted the significance of the increased gold price, which has risen 70% since their last mineral resource estimate in 2013. Pelangio plans to follow up the gold resource review with an economic assessment for potential development.
The Manfo project covers 96 km² in the Sefwi-Bibiani greenstone belts. Since 2010, Pelangio has made seven significant gold discoveries there. Exploration efforts have indicated the potential for further resource additions, particularly around the Pokukrom East and West deposits.
