Photon Energy Expands Romanian Solar Portfolio to Over 50 MWp
Photon Energy N.V. has successfully expanded its Romanian Independent Power Producer (IPP) portfolio by connecting a new solar power plant to the grid. Located in Sărulești, Călărași County, the plant boasts a capacity of 3.2 MWp. This addition brings Photon Energy's total operational capacity in Romania to 51.6 MWp across 13 photovoltaic assets.
The new facility covers 4.5 hectares and includes 5,760 high-efficiency bifacial PV modules on single-axis trackers. With an expected annual generation of 4.9 GWh, the plant is projected to yield revenues of EUR 400,000 in 2025, based on existing off-take agreements with Transelectrica, Romania's electricity transmission operator.
Photon Energy is advancing with 100 solar plants globally, totaling a capacity of 129.7 MWp. The company also offers project development, EPC services, and PV component distribution in Romania.
