Phu Quoc voted second best island in the world
PHU QUOC, VIETNAM – Travel + Leisure magazine has named Phu Quoc, a Vietnamese island, the second best island in the world in the 2024 edition of its World's Best Awards, just after the Maldives.
Each year, these awards honor the best destinations and hotel establishments across the globe. More than 186,000 readers rated the islands on various criteria such as beaches, local cuisine and natural experiences. Phu Quoc scored 94.41 points, surpassing Bali, which scored 93.26 points.
Phu Quoc is known for its pristine beaches, sunny climate and rolling mountains. The island also offers unique experiences and luxury amenities, such as New World Phu Quoc, ranked among the top 100 hotels in the world.
The island benefits from a visa waiver policy for stays of less than 30 days, making access easier for international tourists. In 2024, the number of international flights to Phu Quoc saw a significant increase, with new direct connections from several Central Asian countries.
According to forecasts, Phu Quoc could welcome up to 14.6 million visitors in 2024, consolidating its position among Asia's major tourist destinations.
