OPmobility Expands in India with New Production Facilities
OPmobility is amplifying its presence in India by inaugurating a new facility in Badhalwadi, Maharashtra, and beginning construction of a plant in Kharkhoda, Haryana. The company aims to double its sales in India by 2030, tapping into the world's third-largest automotive market. The Badhalwadi plant marks OPmobility's first site in India to combine exterior systems and energy storage systems production.
The Indian automotive sector is projected to grow annually by 5.2% from 2025 to 2030, and OPmobility is positioned to capitalize on this through increased production and reinforced engineering and digital capabilities. The company's Indian operations include four R&D centers supporting local and global markets, with OP’nSoft, the software entity, establishing a center in Bangalore.
Emphasizing sustainability, the Badhalwadi plant features solar panels supplying 35% of its energy and employs a majority of women. Moreover, OPmobility contributes to the local community by supporting a nearby school with facility expansions and digital equipment.
