PNE AG Secures EU Funding for Hydrogen Project in Poland
PNE AG has been granted EU funding for the Polish Cross Border Pomeranian Green Hydrogen Cluster project. This initiative aims to explore integration possibilities with the European hydrogen network. The project, a collaboration with Polish and German gas network operators GAZ-SYSTEM and GASCADE, received support to conduct feasibility studies.
PNE's Polish subsidiary, Sevivon, plans to develop wind farms and photovoltaic plants with a total capacity of 2.0 GW in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship. The green electricity generated will power two 500 MW electrolysers to aid decarbonisation efforts in industries difficult to electrify, such as steel and chemicals.
The European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency is financing these studies through the Connecting Europe Facility program. The funding includes a grant of 190,000 euros for examining the connectivity of electrolysers to national and cross-border hydrogen networks.
