Porsche Plans a Trio of Powertrains for the Cayenne into the Next Decade
Porsche is set to launch three powertrain variants for the fourth-generation Cayenne, with testing on the all-electric model already underway. The company will also continue to develop its combustion engine and hybrid models. This strategy aims to offer diverse powertrains beyond 2030.
For over 20 years, the Cayenne has blended Porsche's driving performance with daily comfort and off-road capability. The fourth-generation will include an all-electric model, and efficient combustion and hybrid engines will remain available. CEO Blume emphasized the Cayenne's continual innovation and versatility.
The current Cayenne, which recently received extensive upgrades, will see further technological investments, particularly in powertrain efficiency. The twin-turbo V8 will be enhanced to meet future legislative standards.
Porsche aims to electrify over 80% of its new cars by 2030, leveraging a redeveloped Premium Platform Electric (PPE) with 800-volt architecture for the Cayenne. Real-world testing of the prototypes has begun, marking a critical milestone in the development process.
