Power One Commences Drilling at Pecors Project in Ontario
Power One Resources Corp. (TSX-V:PWRO) has resumed drilling at its Pecors Property in Elliot Lake, Ontario. Drilling was paused last year due to freeze-thaw conditions. The company has planned 1400 meters of drilling targeting up to four holes.
The Pecors Property, with a 7km by 3km anomaly, shows potential for nickel-copper-PGM and uranium. Drilling in 2007 identified uranium values of 4.3 lbs/t over 4 meters. The site is near Eco Ridge Project, which has significant uranium and rare-earth oxide resources.
Historical estimates by Rio Tinto in 1977 indicated the Pecors Channel hosts 20 million tons grading 0.037% U3O8. However, these figures are not NI 43-101 compliant and should be treated as historical data only.
The drilling targets are based on results from a 2008 VTEM and Magnetic survey. They focus on conductors favorable for uranium and PGE mineralization. The drill holes are expected to reach depths of 104.49 meters and 122.64 meters at specific coordinates.
Power One's CEO, Karim Rayani, emphasizes the project's significance and looks forward to a productive year of announcements.
