Preservica Enhances UK Local Government Record Efficiency
Preservica, a leader in Active Digital Preservation™, has introduced a new edition of its archiving software aimed at improving the efficiency of UK Local Authority record-keeping. This software aligns with UK regulations, including the Public Records Act and UK GDPR, ensuring reliable long-term digital records.
The software was developed with input from nearly 50 UK local authority records offices. It features ready-configured folders, metadata, and workflows to support various government records, such as services for councils, adult and children, planning, and infrastructure.
Using Active Digital Preservation™, the software ensures records remain accessible and compliant. It also features a public access portal for transparency. Integration with Microsoft 365 allows seamless records management within existing workflows, enhancing efficiency and standardization.
Sam Johnston from Dorset History Centre highlights the cost-effectiveness and convenience of preserving records digitally. CEO Mike Quinn emphasizes the growing need for digital preservation in public sectors to meet increasing demands for efficiency and transparency.
