Pure Lithium Enters Into a Lithium Metal Battery Joint Development Agreement Using E3 Lithium Brine
Pure Lithium Corporation, a Boston-based lithium metal battery technology company, has signed a Joint Development Agreement with E3 Lithium Ltd. The partnership aims to advance the design of a lithium metal anode and battery pilot plant in Alberta. This collaboration will also complete a Preliminary Economic Assessment for a commercial lithium metal battery facility using Pure Lithium's Brine to Battery™ technology and E3's lithium concentrate.
Pure Lithium has been using E3's lithium concentrate to produce high energy density lithium metal cells, which excludes nickel, cobalt, and graphite. Over the next year, the companies will develop a techno-economic model and pilot facility near Calgary. The aim is to produce 200kg of lithium metal anodes for lithium metal vanadium rechargeable batteries.
Pure Lithium CEO Emilie Bodoin noted that securing a lithium supply has historically been a challenge for battery companies. E3's CEO Chris Doornbos added that integrating E3's and Pure Lithium's technologies promises to deliver low-cost, sustainable batteries.
