Québec Precious Metals announces promising drilling results on the Sakami project
Québec Precious Metals Corporation communicated the encouraging results of its drilling program carried out at the end of 2023 on the La Pointe Extension gold deposit, located within the Sakami project, 100% owned by the company and located in the territory of Eeyou Istchee James Bay in Quebec. This program aimed to explore the high-grade portion of the deposit that could be suitable for open-pit mining.
Major intersections include 0.83 g/t gold over 80.4 m and 1.18 g/t gold over 43.2 m for holes PT-21-196 and PT-21-197 respectively, confirming the continuity of the central zone at high grade of the deposit. This discovery results from the drilling of two holes totaling 732 meters, crossing a highly silicified paragneiss characteristic of the mineralized zone.
Normand Champigny, CEO of QPM, expresses optimism about the drilling results, which validate the extension of the mineralized zone and encourage planning for future drilling work. The company is currently conducting a complete review of drilling targets on the Sakami project, including the La Pointe extension.
In terms of quality assurance and control, strict protocols were followed, with regular QA/QC insertions into the sample flow. The drilling program was supervised by GeoVector Management Inc., with execution carried out by Forage Val d'Or.
