Recticel and Sika Awarded for Innovations in Energy-Saving Construction

Recticel and Sika received the prestigious Perifem Award for their innovative "Light Roof" system. Presented at the Perifem Day event in France, the recognition came under the Energy Category due to the system's capacity for improving energy efficiency in commercial buildings. The Light Roof is a collaboration between Recticel Insulation and Sika, focusing on membrane solutions for flat roofs.

The Light Roof system combines Recticel’s Powerdeck+ insulation board with Sika’s Sarnafil TS77 solar reflective membrane. This integration not only facilitates the installation of photovoltaic panels without additional structural support but allows continuous operations during installation. The system has been introduced in France and is especially beneficial in the renovation of steel deck flat roofs and new construction, helping reduce carbon footprints and construction costs as compared to conventional methods.

Jan Vergote, CEO of the Recticel Group, emphasized the system’s significant role in updating industrial, commercial, and retail facilities. The Smart innovations like the Light Roof are crucial to meeting SBTi targets and demonstrate Recticel’s commitment to sustainable partnerships and technological advancements in the construction sector.
