Resumption of imports of mangoes from West Africa to the port of Dunkirk

The port of Dunkirk will once again welcome mangoes from West Africa from May 5, 2024. Around 100 containers per week, or 10,000 tonnes of mangoes, will be imported from Ivory Coast, Mali and Burkina Faso. Faso by the company SIIM, a subsidiary of the Omer-Decugis & Cie group. Dunkirk thus strengthens its position as the leading French port for the import of containerized fruits and vegetables.

Maurice Georges, Chairman of the Management Board of Dunkerque-Port, expressed his satisfaction with the sustainability of this partnership with the Omer-Decugis & Cie group. Vincent Omer-Decugis, CEO of the group, underlined the importance of Dunkirk in the logistics chain of the European market, thanks to its infrastructure and logistics expertise.

The imported mangoes will be distributed in France and various European countries, including the United Kingdom, Germany and Switzerland. A distribution event is also planned in Dunkirk on June 1 during the Fête de la Mer, where 2,000 mangoes will be offered to residents.
