Rivers Are Life Participates in Mississippi River Cleanup With Environmental Partners and Austin Dillon Ahead of the Illinois 300

On June 1, 2024, Rivers Are Life collaborated with Ducks Unlimited, Friends of the Fox River, Louisiana State University, Dow, and the Richard Childress Racing Team to clean a section of the Mississippi River. This event took place prior to the Enjoy Illinois 300 NASCAR Cup Series race. Austin Dillon, driver of the No. 3 Dow Chevy, participated with his crew.

The cleanup, managed by Living Lands & Waters, involved 40 volunteers who removed 1,780 lbs of trash. This event aimed to raise awareness about the significance of water and natural ecosystems.

Dow's representative, Carrie Houtman, emphasized their commitment to ecosystem protection through innovative collaboration. Chris Keefer, Founder and CEO of Rivers Are Life, highlighted the opportunity to engage a broader audience by partnering with figures like Dillon.

Participants gathered afterwards to discuss further initiatives for raising public awareness about river and ecosystem conservation. Rivers Are Life continues to partner with various organizations to support river sustainability.
