Rockhaven Resources Ltd. Announces Improved Metallurgical Results for Klaza Project
Rockhaven Resources Ltd. reported significant advancements in metallurgical test results for its Klaza project in southern Yukon, focusing on optimizing processing flows and improving recoveries of gold and silver. The comprehensive test program indicated potential reductions in capital and operational expenditures alongside enhanced environmental compliance.
The recent tests at the Klaza property highlighted an 82% recovery rate for gold and 85% for silver using conventional flotation techniques. This includes the production of three marketable concentrates, which could now be directly sent to smelters without the need for onsite pressure oxidation. Notably, the lead concentrate showed promising assay grades, averaging 210 g/t gold and 4,997 g/t silver.
Adding to these results, Rockhaven's implementation of dense media separation (DMS) demonstrated high metal recoveries and suggested a possible decrease in processing costs for run-of-mine mill feeds. This process may also facilitate larger-scale mining operations and lower cut-off grades, effectively turning lower-grade mineralization into viable mill feed and addressing tailings management issues more efficiently by reducing surface tailings storage requirements.
The outcomes from this extensive testing are expected to be integrated into future resource estimations and economic studies for the Klaza project. Rockhaven's CEO, Matt Turner, emphasized these results as pivotal in achieving a simplified and more economically viable operational plan for Klaza.
