Room00 Group Buys TOC Hostels for Around 20M and Is Now the Main Hostel Chain in Europe
Room00 Group, the leading platform for hostels and boutique hotels in the Iberian Peninsula, has acquired 100% of TOC Hostels from Ignacio Catalán and Salvador Torrens. The deal, valued at around 20 million euros, makes Room00 the largest hostel chain in Europe.
With this acquisition, Room00 will close the year with 30 open establishments (20 in development) in three countries and 2,260 rooms, including 900 under construction. This will lead to the consolidation and expansion of the TOC Hostels brand across Spain, Portugal, and Italy.
Room00's current portfolio will expand from Room00 Hostel, Room Select Hotels, and LETOH LETOH, to include a fourth brand. The company will also increase its presence in cities such as Madrid, Barcelona, Seville, Malaga, Granada, and Valencia.
Ignacio Requena, CEO and founder of Room00 Group, noted that the acquisition strengthens their leadership in the sector, increasing visibility and market share. The merger is expected to generate operational efficiencies, cost reductions, and service improvements.
