RVs: The New Holiday Guest Accommodation
With 21 million Americans planning RV trips this holiday season, and 7 million during Christmas alone, using an RV as a guest house is gaining popularity. Many travelers park RVs at home or at friends' and family's residences.
"RVs offer a practical and affordable solution for holiday gatherings," said Monika Geraci of the RV Industry Association. They provide extra space, comfort, and privacy. Geraci notes their Thanksgiving experience with an RV bunk room was a hit among parents and kids.
This trend helps ease holiday stress. Research by Trust & Will indicates 40% of families face conflicts during gatherings. An RV offers proximity to festivities with a personal retreat.
Financial concerns are a major stressor, with 25% of Americans more anxious this season, reports the American Psychiatric Association. RV use can be more affordable, costing up to 60% less than traditional travel.
Non-owners can rent RVs through various options, including dealers and national companies. Go RVing offers tools to locate rentals, with delivery options available for last-minute preparations.
