Salzgitter AG sells Mannesmann Stainless Tubes Group to Cogne Acciai Speciali
As part of its ongoing active portfolio management, Salzgitter AG has sold the Mannesmann Stainless Tubes (MST) group to the Italian company Cogne Acciai Speciali. The transaction, valued at 135 million euros - corresponding to the net book value - is subject to regulatory approval. This sale is in line with the "Salzgitter AG 2030" strategy.
Burkhard Becker, Chief Financial Officer of Salzgitter AG, emphasizes that this approach aims for portfolio management based on strategic acquisitions and divestitures of companies outside defined development sectors. For MST and its employees, integration into the Cogne Acciai Speciali network offers new entrepreneurial opportunities.
Cogne Acciai Speciali is internationally recognized with production facilities on three continents and sales offices in major global economic regions. The company produces long stainless steel and nickel-based alloy products targeting several key industrial sectors.
MST specializes in the production of seamless stainless steel and nickel-based alloy tubes from its sites in Germany, France, Italy, and the USA, serving industries such as power plant construction, chemicals, and petrochemicals. The divestiture reflects Salzgitter AG's strategic focus on an optimized portfolio.
